HISTORICAL MONUMENTS IN SIKKIM

 Sikkim, a state in northeastern India, is known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes. 1. Rumtek Monastery:

   - Significance: Rumtek Monastery is one of the most important and largest monasteries in Sikkim. It is the seat of the Karmapa Lama, the third-highest ranking lama in Tibetan Buddhism.


2. Pemayangtse Monastery:

   - Significance: Pemayangtse, meaning "Perfect Sublime Lotus," is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim. It offers panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains and is known for its ancient religious artifacts.



3. Nathula Pass:

   - Significance: While not a traditional monument, Nathula Pass is historically significant as it was part of the ancient Silk Route. It also played a role in the India-China war of 1962. Visitors can view the border between India and China from Nathula.
